marketWHY — Onboarding Pre-Read
What we'll cover and what to have ready so we can move quickly.
What We'll Do in the Session
- Create your organization in marketWHY and get you signed in.
- Configure your brand (name, voice, colors, assets) so all generated content and creatives match your identity.
- Connect your channels (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit) so marketWHY can publish on your behalf.
- Set up AI (LLM) keys — either your own keys (BYOK) or use the platform's (if available).
Please have the items below ready before the session.
1. AI / LLM Keys (Bring Your Own — BYOK)
We primarily use Anthropic (Claude) for copy and OpenAI for images. You can bring your own keys so you own and pay for your usage. We can also support other models — see options below.
Anthropic (Claude) — for copy and content generation
- What it's for: Draft copy, regeneration, engagement replies, thread ideas.
- What to bring: An Anthropic API key.
- How: console.anthropic.com → Settings → API Keys → Create key. We'll add it in the dashboard (stored encrypted).
OpenAI (DALL·E) — for image generation (optional)
- What it's for: AI-generated images (quote cards, stat graphics).
- What to bring: An OpenAI API key with DALL·E access.
- How: platform.openai.com → API keys → Create; ensure DALL·E/billing enabled. We'll add it (stored encrypted).
Other models we can support
We can reasonably add Google (Gemini) and xAI (Grok) for content or images if you prefer. Mention it in the session and we'll confirm availability.
Backlog / coming later: Additional providers (e.g. Mistral, Cohere) may be added as we integrate them. Ask if you have a specific model in mind.
If you prefer not to use your own keys, we can use the platform's keys (if enabled for your org). We'll confirm in the session.
2. Social Channel Credentials
marketWHY can publish to X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit. For each channel you want to use, we need the right credentials (stored per-org, encrypted).
How OAuth works
We use one OAuth app per platform (e.g. one LinkedIn app, one Meta app for Instagram/Facebook). You don’t build your own app — you just sign in to your LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. during the session and grant access. We store your org’s tokens so marketWHY can post on your behalf. Each organization authenticates into their own accounts through the same app.
- Instagram: In the marketWHY dashboard (after your org exists), use Connect Instagram (Meta) — you sign in with Facebook; no manual token hunt. Your Instagram must be a professional account linked to a Facebook Page you manage.
- LinkedIn: Use Connect LinkedIn in the dashboard (OAuth). Company-page posting needs the right LinkedIn app scopes; tokens expire periodically and you reconnect the same way.
- X (Twitter): For now, API Key, API Secret, Access Token, Access Token Secret from the X developer portal (OAuth 1.0a user context, Read and Write). In-dashboard OAuth for X is planned.
- Facebook: Page Access Token + Page ID. Meta for Developers → Facebook Graph API; permissions: pages_manage_posts, pages_read_engagement.
- Reddit: Client ID and Client Secret (from reddit.com/prefs/apps); we can run OAuth in session to get refresh token.
Channels on our backlog: TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, and others. Tell us if you need one and we'll keep you updated.
3. Brand Assets and Copy We'll Configure Together
We'll set these in the dashboard during the session. Have answers and assets ready. If you have a brand one-pager or voice guidelines, bring a link or doc. Don't have brand guidelines yet? We can support you in building them — just say so in the session.

4. Access and Sign-In
- Sign-in: We use Google SSO as our primary method. Use the Google account you want for marketWHY; we'll invite that email to your org.
- Other sign-in options: We can support other standards (e.g. Microsoft, LinkedIn, Apple) if your team needs them — we'll configure during or after onboarding.
- Daily digest (optional): We'll set the notification address during or after onboarding if you want a daily summary email.
Checklist — Bring to the Session
- Anthropic API key (if BYOK for content)
- OpenAI API key (if BYOK for images; optional)
- Instagram: Facebook login access to the Page linked to your IG (Connect in dashboard)
- LinkedIn: Login for the profile (and company page, if used) — Connect in dashboard
- X: API Key, API Secret, Access Token, Access Token Secret (paste in dashboard until OAuth ships)
- Facebook: Page Access Token + Page ID (if using)
- Reddit: Client ID, Client Secret (or we run OAuth in session)
- Brand: Name, tagline, author, colors (hex), voice traits, do/avoid, logo if ready
- Google account (or other SSO) you'll use to sign in
If something is missing, we can skip that channel and add it later. We'll get your org created, brand set, and at least one channel live in the first session.
